THE battle between George Gregan and Matt Giteau for the Wallabies' World Cup No. 9 jersey will be decided in the Test series against Wales and Fiji. Wallabies coach John Connolly yesterday confirmed that both players would get to press their cases for selection with starts at halfback in at least one of the three domestic Tests. However, the final decision would also hinge on the selectors' best option for inside-centre, a position for which Giteau is also a contender.
I missed those day in OZ Land when me and my mates would be eager to watch rugby and OZ rules over the weekend. I love fast pace game unlike golf or baseball which to me is such a slow boring game that doesn't make my heart all pumped up and excited. My OZ mate, PicaJu currently in HK texted me this morning informing me about the games and we hope Gregan gets the jersey.
I like watching G.Gregan play not only because he holds a world record of 127 Test caps and is embarking on his fourth World Cup campaign, but also a responsible sportsman with foundation set up with her wife dealing with sick and needy kids. Gregan's son is also diagnosed with epilepsy and the foundation aims to raise funds for specific project targetting children. That is the kindda of sports person that i look up to.
Hope he gets the No. 9 and won't be sitting on the bench.

I think Gregan at scrum half would be a liability esp since McCaw n Kelleher made mince meat outta him in the last tri nations...maybe giteau would make a better no 9...

Daus: Thats true but he can out-run lots of players and its not only abt half back but also insider center position as well. We shall see as both will have to swap places for the Tests against Wales.

The Wales match shud be a good indicator...if Gavin Henson does decide he wants to be a rugby player rather than just a pretty boy, it should test the wallabies wc prep. Personally, Im rooting for the all blacks! would love to see Collins give Johnny Wilko one of his famous spine crushing tackles...
