Rome-Firenze-Pisa-Rome

A write up on my recent trip to Italy will take me a long time to write and i am not sure whether i can ever complete it. Howevere, i'm trying here people.

Journey to Rome took me about 12 hours, surprisingly it wasn't so bad and somehow between playing video games, watching movies and my Ipod do keep me entertain ('m easily entertained) and i did managed to get some sleep too. Got in Fumicino about 5.00 am local time and taking a bus to the main terminal reminds me of old Subang Airport . It was freezing though, not that i have to search my balls at that time but packing my jacket in my main luggage was not a good idea.

Breeze through imigration and got my bag easily and walked for about 10 min to the main train station at the airport to Termini Station. The latter is a main station to everywhere inside and outside Rome. Got there after 30 min ride about 6.30am and stored my bag at the station and on a lookout for a cafe. Good coffee will get me going and dad warned me earlier not to asked for a latte if i want one instead they all called it cafe latte. Experience thought him that latte aka "susu panas" is a major difference to coffee. Managed to find a cafe and call me "buah berangan" but their coffee taste so much better than any over charged coffee chain in Malaysia and for 0.80 cents, it was worth every Euro.

Out of Termini and walked around until i saw City Trekker bus aka Hop On Hop Off in Malaysia bus without the constant ranting by the bus conductor, broken English and bad traffic in KL versus amazing ancient wonders, classical sights, perfect cold wheather ( i love winter), perfect English commentator through ear phones (u can switch it off if u wish not to listen to it versus telling people to shut up in our Hop ON Hop Off Bus) . OK OK. Its only my 1st day and i bitch about KL already but seriously there's a lot we can leran from them! Anyway, i went to practically 6 major places in Rome already and its only my 1st 4 hours here. I was at Piazza Santa Maria, Colosseum. Pantheon and i choose to stop at Vatican City. Went in St Peter Bailica and it was majestic. Climb up the Dome and trust me the gym classes helps. To summarise, its higher than Batu Caves but the view is worth a climb.

Later, checked in the hotel called Jolly Leonardo which was surprisingly nice and only 2 train stop away (Lepanto Station at Vatican) from the Spanish Steps which eneded up being my favourite place in Rome. For the next 4 days, i pretty much pimped Rome. Doing pretty much like a normal tourist in a city though this is my 2nd time in Rome. Well my 1st when i was 11! That doesnt' count when u being dragged by mum and dad everywhere! Visited Colosseum and 3G'ed ChocPot. Toss away some coins at Trevi Fountain, walked around Piazza del Popolo, Circus Maximus etc. Considerd myself an expert on Rome train route during my stay there and it was so easy to everywhere.

On my last day in Rome before i trained out to Firenze, HB and BF came to Rome and we met at YSL closed to Spanish Steps. HB suggested that meeting point in front of YSL is more posh than fountain at the Steps and my shopping journey began with them. I'm not good at shopping and the effort tires me out togther with my lack of patienece in lookig for things that i probably dont really need, shopping is not in my agenda initially. Somehow, i ended up buying a Pal Zileri suit and Armani for my brother. Prada shoe and 5 business shirts and couple of ties for myself and some Furla handbag for mum and Feraggamo wallet for my dad.

I never considered myself a braded queen but i do have a thang over Dunhill products and my question on the whereabouts of Dunhill shop makes people in Pal Zileri scream at me in English sounded like Italian! Dunn Hill the cigarettey? Italy buy Italian brand no English! I ask no more about Dunhill location there. Had nice dinner with HB and BF. Sphagetti Shripms, Vegie Soup, Wine and tiramisu to die for that can make u drunk shitless after 2 spoons is all i need.

Next morning, i took a train to Firenze aka Florence for 33Euro and the journey took me about 2 hours. Firenze is beautiful with Dommo being the main point of meeting for everyone. I was a a bit churched out after Rome. Honestly, i can't keep track of the history of Christianity nor i give a shit but the history from Etruscan to Roman and Renaissance, Senate, Vatican and Popes etc confuses me. However, Firenze is a quiet, attractive city with a lot to offer and i do find it interesting to visit though it can be a bit way to quiet for me. However, how can one not be in Firenze where it is the birth place of Michaelaglo where the famous naked David a man who look like a girl with a dick stands in a nicely Baroque type low key museum is located!

The next day, i took a train to Pisa for half a day trip and Pisa was less interesting as the only major attraction in Pisa was Pisa Tower. I spent less than 3 hours in Pisa and took a train back to Firenze. I had a nice dinner at Firenze which i think was relatively cheap. A bottle of wine cost me 2.50 versus 2.00 for a water. Wine-Water-Wine, damn i was confused which to choose!

The following day i was back in Rome for another 2 nights before headed off to KL because my trip to NY was cancelled! I did have a good time in Italy and my journey can be summerised as follow:-

1. Good food, nice wine, great coffee, gelato, have money can shop and i did stayed at a nice hotel.
2. Italians can be a bit "kasar" yet friendly. Doesn't bother me that much.
3. Hope to go there again one day with my friends.

Ciao bella.
