St George, Melbourne Marathon

Over 25,000 people are expected to sign up for the 2009 St.George Melbourne Marathon, to be held on Sunday 11 October. The Melbourne Marathon offers a choice of four distances, and features one of the most memorable finishes of any running event in the world, with all participants having the opportunity to run a lap of the mighty MCG before crossing the finish line in front of the MCC Members’ Stand.

The courses take in some of Melbourne’s most famous landmarks, including Federation Square, the Victorian Arts Centre, St Kilda Road, the Tan, the Shrine, Albert Park Lake and Beaconsfield Parade. The Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC) is the official charity partner for the event. The organisation has set a fundraising target of $209,000 for 2009 and i will be part of it. I'm so excited as its my first run in Melbourne and gives me more mileage training for Singapore Marathon.
